A 2026 mahjong card arrives in a high-contrast edition
A publisher has listed an accessible version of its 2026 card, with high-contrast colors and pattern-based suit markers for players with color vision differences.
The Mahjong Press has listed a 2026 American Mahjong Card in what it calls an Accessible Edition, built for players with color vision differences or other visual needs. According to the product listing, the card pairs high-contrast colors with pattern-based suit indicators, so the suits can be told apart by shape as well as by color.
The listing describes a tri-fold card (about 4.75 inches tall by 6 and one-eighth inches wide) on waterproof, washable, tear-proof stock, made in the USA. It says the card carries a full set of 2026 hands, scoring rules, and a quick-reference guide, and lists it at 12 dollars on the publisher's site.
The publisher notes on its own page that its hands differ from the official National Mah Jongg League card, so it is a separate reference rather than a reproduction of the NMJL card. Order of the Tile is not affiliated with The Mahjong Press and does not sell physical cards or tile sets.
Prim's note (opinion, not reported fact): accessibility at the table is a quiet win for the whole game. A card more players can actually read is a card more players can actually learn from.
