The Horseshoe Bay tournament sets its 12th year for September

The Texas resort tournament runs Wednesday and Thursday, September 9 and 10, and the organizers moved the dates on purpose.

The 12th Annual Mah Jongg Tournament at Horseshoe Bay Resort runs September 9 and 10, a Wednesday and a Thursday. Three rounds the first day, two or more the second, with a Second Chance option available Thursday. Proceeds benefit the Horseshoe Bay Foundation, which the tournament describes as a group that runs an annual charity event to raise money for social causes and public benefit.

One detail says something about how these tournaments get run. The organizers state on their own page that they listened and moved the dates to avoid conflicting with Rosh Hashanah. Somebody wrote in, and the calendar changed.

VIP registration is listed as full. General registration opened in May, so anyone eyeing a seat should check what is left rather than assume.
